Everyone needs a list
You need a list when you go shopping, when you have a meeting to run and when you choose to quit drinking alcohol. The list you use could contain all the ‘good’ things you need to buy today to help in your programme. It could be healthy food and alternative drinks. It could be the filter to place in your water container so that your tap water is as pure as possible - water being your new drinking buddy. But your list could also contain the bad times and effects caused by your previous alcohol consumption. People who quit may sometimes be tempted to have just the one drink. You know, it’s that part of your brain called the booze brain..
If you want a good reason or reasons why you should refuse your booze brain’s invitation, take out your list and read about those bad times..
Do you want to suffer those dreadful hangovers? Do you want to be broke because you spent so much money on booze? Do you want the arguments you had with your partner when you were drinking heavily? Of course not and that simple list in your wallet or purse could be the key to help you stay dry. Write it now. Pop it away where you can get to it in a trice. It might be the one thing which enables you to permanently quit drinking alcohol..If you reckon quitting will be really tough, you can make a list of days with sections in them. So that would be Monday morning, Monday afternoon and Monday evening. You list what you will do in each of those parts of the day. By having a specific activity and one which will not involve alcohol, you give yourself a strict program to stay away from drinking. You have something worthwhile to do. Keep up this list and calendar until you feel confident about avoiding a drink. It’s a simple but practical way to achieve your goal. It doesn’t cost anything and can be created or written up in next to no time. Just make sure you carry your timetable with you. It can be stored in the same pocket or purse in which you have your list of lousy things you did when you were drinking alcohol.

We suggest you purchase the number 1 'how to stop drinking' program Quit Drink 4 Life.
