If you have a high self-esteem you will be proud of your new-found lifestyle, alcohol free. You will grow your self-esteem with every passing day in which you no longer have a drink. But sadly the opposite is true.

If you have a low self-esteem, you will find it much harder to stay the course. Thinking poorly of yourself, thinking you are a failure and a loser will greatly increase the chances of you relapsing and going back to having a drink.
